Overview
Pulmonary Medicine (often combined with Critical Care as "Pulm/Crit Care") is a core subspecialty of internal medicine in medical education. It teaches medical students how the respiratory system exchanges gases, maintains acid-base balance, and responds to obstructive, restrictive, and infectious insults.
